Our Engineering Services
At PMG, engineering isn’t just what we do – it’s who we are. With decades of experience in precision manufacturing, our team delivers high-quality, bespoke engineering solutions across a wide range of industries. From one-off motorsport components to full production runs for OEM clients, we combine cutting-edge technology with traditional skills to produce work we’re proud of – and that our clients trust.
We are proud to supply and support some of the most prestigious names in automotive and motorsport, including Mercedes AMG F1, Williams F1, Bob Houghton Ferrari, Autocraft Machining Solutions, Lotus Cars, The Aston Martin Service Centre, and Haynes Motor Museum. Our reputation is built on reliability, accuracy, and a deep understanding of the materials and processes behind world-class engineering.
Whether we’re working with metals, plastics, or advanced composites, our facilities are equipped to handle every stage of production – from concept to component.
CAD Design
Great engineering starts with smart design. At PMG, we use professional CAD software to create detailed, production-ready 3D models and drawings. Whether designing complex brackets, full assemblies, or custom vehicle components, our CAD capabilities ensure precision from the very first step.
What we offer:
-
3D and 2D technical drawings
-
Reverse engineering from existing parts
-
Tolerance analysis and mechanical fit validation
-
Optimised designs for fabrication, welding, or machining
This design-first approach allows us to eliminate errors before any material is cut and ensures seamless integration between design and manufacturing.
Sewing & High Frequency Welding
For non-metal components, we offer in-house industrial sewing and HF (High Frequency) welding, ideal for soft materials like PVC, textiles, and flexible plastics. These capabilities are essential for our safety guarding and cover work, but also extend to motorsport applications such as seat covers, protective wraps, and bespoke interior elements.
Highlights:
-
Stitching of technical fabrics and vinyls
-
Seamless HF welds for waterproof and airtight joins
-
Reinforced stitching for wear-resistance
-
Custom pattern design and prototyping
Welding
Our team includes MIG and TIG welders with experience across a wide range of materials, including steel, stainless steel, aluminium, and titanium. From fine-detail work on motorsport chassis to structural industrial fabrications, we weld to the highest standards of strength, durability, and visual finish.
Capabilities include:
TIG welding for thin-gauge and aesthetic work
MIG welding for speed and strength on heavier fabrications
Fixture-based production welding for repeatability
Aluminium and stainless-specific fabrication
Sheet Metal Fabrication
Our workshop is fully equipped for forming, shaping, and finishing complex sheet metal parts. From small brackets to full panels and enclosures, our experienced team can work with steel, stainless, and aluminium to bring your designs to life.
Processes we support:
-
CNC press brake bending
-
Shearing, notching, and deburring
-
Spot welding and fastener insertion
-
Powder coating and surface preparation (via partners)
Waterjet Cutting
We can provide waterjet cutting services for a wide range of materials such as hardened tool steel, aluminum and titanium, exotics including carbon fibre, ceramic, nickel alloys and composites, and architectural materials such as marble, granite, glass, tile and stone. In fact our OMAX® abrasive waterjet can deliver complex cutting of virtually any material.
This state-of-the-art technology offers a fast turnaround, with almost no machine set-up time, giving you the flexibility you require for prototyping, limited runs or production parts. It is ideal for fast-paced demands such as aftermarket automotive, motorcycle and aerospace parts.
Tolerance and accuracy is within +/-.003″ and waterjet cutting leaves no burrs or thermal distortion. With no material hardening or stress, it offers the best nesting ability possible.
The technology enables smooth, precise edges to be cut in any two-dimensional shape without the need for secondary processing. Production is directly from .DXF files, CAD files or scanned images.
