The journey officially begins! After weeks of planning, preparation, and anticipation, the PMG Motorsport team hit the road from Gloucestershire to Braintree in Essex to collect our MK Indy RX-5 kit – the starting point of our debut motorsport build.
Leaving the comfort of our workshop in the early morning light, we made the several-hour drive east in our flatbed van, ready to collect its special cargo. There’s something undeniably exciting about knowing you’re not just picking up parts – you’re collecting the foundation of a project that’s going to push boundaries and showcase everything your engineering team can do.
Upon arrival, the team at MK were fantastic – walking us through each component, reviewing the inventory, and discussing build considerations that would come into play down the line. Seeing the neatly packed kit, knowing every bracket and chassis piece would soon come together in our hands, made the long journey worth every mile.
Once everything was loaded and secured, we turned back toward Gloucestershire, heads buzzing with ideas and anticipation. By the time we pulled back into PMG HQ, we were already discussing modifications, enhancements, and custom components we could integrate using our waterjet and fabrication capabilities.
Unloading the kit was a proud moment – not just because it marked the official start of the build, but because it symbolised the launch of PMG Motorsport itself. We’re engineers by trade, and now we’re builders by passion. This is more than just a project; it’s a journey we’re excited to take on, and one we can’t wait to share.
